ThoughtFoodness connects food and learning through interactive classroom curriculum designed for schools implementing Farm to School initiatives. Our educational materials and sourcing expertise make it easy for schools to bring fresh, seasonal foods into the classroom while turning every bite into a learning experience.
Farm Exchange
Schools across the country often experience limited access to regionally grown produce outside of their local harvest windows. Seasonal variability, differing by state, region, and climate, creates significant gaps in farm to school availability for much of the academic year. The Farm Exchange is a multi-state farm to school model designed to address this challenge by coordinating procurement across regions and pairing each product with high-quality agricultural education.
The Farm Exchange connects School Food Authorities (SFAs) with growers in states whose harvest windows naturally complement one another. By following seasonal availability, such as fall apples from one region and winter citrus or vegetables from another, schools can offer peak-season domestic produce throughout the year while strengthening market opportunities for small and mid-sized farms in each participating state.
